Palm Guesthouse gazes
over Nuwara Eliya from its perch on Top Pass, surrounded
by protected forest, pine trees, and vegetable gardens. Four
kilometers of narrow turns and tea plantations lie between the
Palm front porch and the relaxed bustle of "downtown"
Nuwara Eliya with its
bakeries, golf course, markets, and race track (all a quick tri-wheeler ride
or 30-45 minute walk away).
Sunset and sunrise
are sublime, whether watched from your bedroom window or from the
middle of the organic garden; possible adventures from Top Pass
include casual hikes into the surrounding forest and gardens, and
arranged day trips to Horton Plains, tea factories, and Adam's
Peak.
Inexpensive, home-cooked Sri Lankan and Western fusion meals are
served when you wish, often with ingredients picked just outside
the kichen. Palm Guesthouse is a part of PALM Foundation,
a non-profit, non-governmental community development organization
based in nearby Hawa Eliya. If you are an experienced development
worker and have professional skills you'd like to share with our
staff, please inquire about volunteering for
PALM. |
