We are located 4 km north of downtown Nuwara Eliya,
on the Kandy Road, just before the crest of Top Pass. From the
Nuwara Eliya bus stand, a tuk-tuk (tri-wheeler) costs
around Rs. 200-300, sometimes less. Or get on any bus headed
north and ask to be let out at our driveway. If you pass under
the northern "Wish You Safe Journey !" gateway,
you've gone too far; get out and walk 80 meters back down to
Palm Guesthouse's steep driveway and sign.
To Nuwara Eliya
Buses run all day between major cities
and Nuwara Eliya. About 6 hours from Colombo and about 3 from
Kandy. By car from Colombo takes 4-5 hours and costs Rs. 5000 each
way by taxi. Or enjoy the stunning train ride to Nanu Oya (6 hours
from Colombo, via Kandy), followed by a 20-minute bus or taxi ride
onward to Nuwara Eliya.
Palm Guesthouse is a part of Palm Foundation,
a non-profit, non-governmental community development organization
based in nearby Hawa Eliya. |
